It’s another great summer day and one great thing that comes with any hot day is….SMOOTHIES. This weather makes it hard to eat a hot bowl of oatmeal that leaves you warmer than you where before. Fortunately smoothies are a quick fix, healthy (if you make them right) and delicious. So all those bad cooks don’t sweat it if you can’t get it wrong. Well….there was this one time that I broke the mixer…but I’m just really bad.
So just in case you are as bad as me just make sure that you have a high potent mixer that can mix ice or frozen fruits/veggies.
So “healthy” smoothies contain a mix of either or almond milk, skim milk, water, yogurt, Greek yogurt, peanut butter, all fruits, and all veggies. (or any mix of random stuff as long as you like it…I guess, raw eggs if you want)
Here is one of my favorite smoothie recipes. Enjoy!
1 cup fat-free milk or what I like to use ALMOND MILK (:
1/2 cup fat-free plain yogurt
1 banana, frozen and chunked
1 tablespoon natural peanut butter
2 cups fresh spinach (trust me it will taste good)
1 cup ice cubes (optional…you don’t want to forcefully kill your mixer)
If you want you can add an orange, you will add more fruits and a punch of flavor.
Once you mix it all together you can drink this in the mornings or after a workout. It is full of nutrients and protein.
